We use Claude AI to classify accounts by reading the bio, caption patterns, and recent posts. It's right ~94% of the time on active accounts. If it guesses wrong, you can override it by picking a different niche from the dropdown on the results page.

Two reasons: (1) it stops bots from hammering the tool, and (2) it lets you come back later without re-running the analysis. We don't spam you — you'll get one email when you sign up and then only if you run another audit.

After signup, go to your dashboard. You'll be prompted to enter your Instagram username, password, and 5 backup security codes (get these from Instagram's Settings → Security → Two-factor authentication → Additional methods → Backup codes). This is so Magnet can log in if Instagram asks for verification.

Because Instagram has no public API for growth automation. Magnet logs into your account the same way you do — via the Instagram app — to like stories, view posts, and follow accounts on your behalf. Without the password we can't take those actions.

Yes. Passwords are encrypted at rest in our database (AES-256). Only the Magnet engine (running in our secure infrastructure) decrypts them when logging into Instagram. No human at Magnet ever sees your password in plaintext. We also never share credentials with third parties.

Instagram generates 10 one-time backup codes when you enable two-factor auth. You give us 5 of them. Magnet uses one if Instagram asks for verification during login — this keeps your account logged in without interrupting you. Keep the other 5 for yourself.

Very rare. We rate-limit every action to stay well under Instagram's daily thresholds (~100 follows/day, ~200 likes/day max). We also randomize timing to look human. The main risk is if you change your password and don't update it in Magnet — the system will keep retrying failed logins, which can trigger a flag. So if you change your password, update it in your dashboard immediately.

Yes. Your plan defaults to one account; additional accounts are $99/mo each. Add them from the dashboard settings.

Not with backup codes. Give us 5 of your codes and we can handle verification challenges automatically. If you're using SMS-only 2FA, disable that and switch to backup codes or an authenticator app.

You give us 3–5 target accounts (similar artists, competitors, or creators whose followers you want). Magnet's AI looks at those accounts' followers, filters out bots and inactive users, predicts which ones are most likely to follow you back, and interacts with them via story views, likes, and follows. It learns from every interaction — the more you run it, the better it gets.

Pick accounts with similar content to yours, in the same niche, that are 10–100× your follower count. For a 20K-follower R&B singer, good targets are 200K–2M R&B singers with active engaged audiences. Avoid mega-celebrities (10M+) — their followers are too broad.

Yes, any time. In the dashboard, go to Targeting → edit or replace your target accounts. The AI adjusts within 24–48 hours.

The AI needs 5–7 days of data before it gets reliable. Most "targeting isn't working" cases are actually (a) brand new accounts still in their first 72-hour warmup, or (b) targets that are too niche (under 5K followers each). If you're past day 7 and still getting zero new followers, email contact@marketingbymagnet.com — this is the single rarest issue we see.

Yes. We only interact with accounts that posted a story in the last 24 hours (proves they're real and active). We also skip accounts with obvious bot signals like <10 posts + 10K+ following ratios.

Yes. Dashboard → Targeting → Filters. You can restrict to specific countries, age brackets (18–22, 22–27, etc.), and gender. Tighter filters = slower growth but more relevant followers.

Five types of interactions, in this order: (1) views a target follower's story, (2) likes that story, (3) likes up to 3 of their highlighted stories, (4) likes up to 3 of their recent posts, (5) optionally follows them. All actions are rate-limited to stay under Instagram's safe thresholds.

For the first 72 hours after connecting, Magnet runs at 25% speed and only does gentle actions (story views, no follows). This warms up your account and avoids Instagram flags. After 72 hours, full speed kicks in.

Optional, turned off by default. If enabled, Magnet follows users who seem likely to follow back, then auto-unfollows them after 7 days if they don't reciprocate. You can toggle this in Settings → Automation.

No. Every action is done from your actual account using your real Instagram session. To the follower, it looks like you personally viewed their story and liked it. That's why it works — authenticity is the whole point.

Yes. Dashboard → Settings → Pause Account. Resume anytime. This does not count as a cancellation.

Instagram's soft caps are around 100 follows/day and 200 likes/day. Magnet stays under both by default. You can see your daily activity count in the dashboard.

Yes, optional. You write a message template (e.g., "Hey! Thanks for the follow — check out my new song!") and Magnet sends it to new followers. Off by default because mass DMs can trigger Instagram flags if overused.

We cap at 50/day on new accounts, 100/day on accounts over 10K followers. Instagram's actual limits are higher but we stay conservative.

Yes. Use {firstname} as a placeholder — Magnet fills it in with the follower's name if available.

Short, genuine, no links in the first message. Example: "Hey {firstname}! Thanks for the follow — what brought you to my page?" Links and sales pitches in DM #1 kill conversion rates and get flagged as spam.

Most accounts start seeing new followers within 48 hours of the 72-hour warmup ending — so day 5 on average. Typical first month: 300–1,500 new real followers depending on niche, targets, and content quality.

Daily new followers, total follower growth, engagement rate, interactions per day (likes/views/follows), DM delivery rate, and a live feed of who Magnet interacted with. Everything updates in real time.

Three common reasons: (1) you paused the account, (2) Instagram is on a growth cooldown after a flagged action — normal, resolves in 24–72 hours, (3) your targets are too small or not relevant. The dashboard flags all three.

Dashboard → Analytics → Export CSV. Includes every follower gained with their username, date, and which target drove them.

We track click-throughs on your bio link. For platform-specific conversions (e.g., Spotify streams), you'll need to use Spotify's own referral tracking or a smart link service like Linkfire.

Magnet Pro is $1 for the first 5 days, then $199/month. Cancel anytime during the trial and the $1 is refunded. After day 5, the full $199 charges and you get the full month.

Yes. Billing → Pause. You can pause for 30 days and resume with no data loss. Best option if you're going on vacation or changing targets.

Billing page → Cancel. You keep access until the end of your current billing period. We also offer: pause (1 or 3 months), downgrade to Social IQ Plus, or a 50% comeback discount — see which makes sense before cancelling.

Trial ($1) is refundable during the 5-day window. After the first full month charges, we don't refund used service — but we'll credit you any unused days if you cancel within 48 hours of being charged.

Yes. Billing page → Invoices. Every charge has a downloadable PDF invoice for tax/business purposes.

Step 1: check if your Instagram password changed recently. If yes, update it in your dashboard — this fixes 99% of "not working" issues. Step 2: if password is correct, check your targeting — make sure your target accounts are still active and in your niche. Step 3: if both are fine, the AI is still learning (typical first 5–7 days). Past 7 days with no growth and correct password/targeting is very rare — email us.

Happens occasionally on brand new accounts. Magnet uses one of your 5 security codes to handle it automatically. If all 5 codes are used, you'll get an email asking for 5 more — go to Instagram Settings → Security → Two-factor authentication → Additional methods → Backup codes and generate a new set.

Three causes: (1) you changed your password, (2) you logged in from a new device and Instagram flagged it, (3) you used all 5 security codes. Fix: reconnect in your dashboard with the new credentials.

One of your target accounts was deleted, banned, or went private. Go to Targeting, remove the bad target, add a new one. Magnet resumes within 30 minutes.

Instagram rate-limits DMs aggressively on new accounts. Common fixes: (1) wait until your account is 30+ days old, (2) shorten your DM template, (3) remove any links from message #1.

Pause your account immediately in the Magnet dashboard. Wait 48 hours. When you resume, Magnet restarts at 25% speed to re-warm. Repeat offenses are rare but if it happens twice, contact us and we'll switch you to a lower-intensity preset.

Almost always a password mismatch (password you have in Magnet doesn't match what's on Instagram). Go to dashboard → Reconnect → enter current password. If that doesn't fix it, one of your 5 security codes is expired — generate fresh ones from Instagram.

Yes, when used correctly. We rate-limit every action below Instagram's safe thresholds and randomize timing to look human. The #1 cause of account issues is changing your password without updating it in Magnet — keep those in sync and you'll be fine.

Passwords are encrypted with per-user keys so even a full DB breach wouldn't expose plaintext credentials. We'd notify affected users within 72 hours and force-reconnect all accounts as a precaution.
