• The years after: development freezes. Features stop shipping. The template library fossilizes while competitors iterate.
• January 2025: Square kills the Weebly mobile app outright.
• 2025, Square community forums: Square staff publicly decline to commit to long-term support for the Weebly editor, with statements pointing to support only through roughly mid-2026. New signups quietly funnel toward Square Online.
• Today: weebly.com still sells free through $26/mo plans to new customers, with no sunset notice on the pricing page. Trustpilot sits near the bottom of the scale, driven by long-term users blindsided at renewal.

If you have a Weebly site, this week's checklist

• Export what you can now (spoiler: Weebly never offered real site export, which is why this hurts).
• Rebuild while your site is still online. Any rebuild tool that reads your live URL needs the site to be up. Waiting until a shutdown notice means rebuilding from screenshots and memory.
• Keep your domain at your registrar; it points wherever you choose next.
• Do it calmly, on your schedule. A forced migration later happens on Square's schedule.
